The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

I loved the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, however; for some reason I was really not enthusiastic about going to this movie. I promised my six year old of course and went to the movie anyways. I found great entertainment and great realizations. I have to admit, I feel sorry for myself more than I really should. I have had a childhood full of abuse, which makes me all the more grateful for what I have now. I found one line in the movie that encompassed this feeling. The line goes something like this
“I often think about what has been taken from me, rather than what I have been given”.
I often think about the childhood that I was robbed of and the parents that I feel I never had, and all that does is make me forget about what is right in front of me. I have two beautiful children and they will have a wonderful childhood, and parents that love them. When I look at my children, I see a beauty in the world that is new and full of hope and wonder. This film is everything that I love about movies, it makes you laugh, it makes you cry, it makes you remember, and it gives you hope. This movie reminded me to be proud of whom I am, and to not try and become someone that society expects me to be. The movie also makes me proud of myself, because of the abuse that I went through and those struggles were extraordinary for anyone, let alone a child, and it makes me proud to be me.
I will be reading the books, I have read the first three, and need to go on now. I hope that someone half of what I got out of this movie.

Due Date

Oh my gosh, don’t even finish reading this just go watch it! I had to watch this movie twice because I laughed so hard that I couldn’t hear or see everything that was going on in the movie. My eyes filled with tears and my stomach hurt the very best kind of laughter. This is my kind of humour, sick, border line wrong, and sarcastic! I just love these two actors together; I have loved Robert Downey Jr. Since I was a kid. I am 28 so for at least 20 years. First in Soap Dish, which I think for 8/9 years old I shouldn’t have loved that much but I did, and at age 11 Hearts and Souls, 12/13 Natural Born Killers (Juliette Lewis, in due date) this movie I should not have been watching but I was just too cool because my parents didn’t senor what I watched. My all time favourite movie is Only you, and have never gone wrong with Downey since! Anyway he is at the top of his game and I absolutely loved this movie, I have missed Juliette Lewis she has always been one of my favourite actors and she is just remarkable, and very cool.

Tangled in Disney Digital 3D

Everything is better in 3D, especially when you get the little people 3D glasses and your children can enjoy the movie without adjusting their glasses every 5 seconds. I loved this movie; sometimes I think that I just use my kids as an excuse to go watch these movies. However I do know that my daughter enjoyed this movie as much as I did. I would like to say that my son enjoyed the movie but the minute the lights went down he wanted to go home (he is three). When the horse in the movie came on screen my son wanted to stay and watch the movie! The horse was really cute and funny. It’s hard to say if he would have made it all the way through but he said he wanted to go home and daddy came and got him. The movie I think will relate to every little girl and some boys, just kids wanting to make their parents proud, and trying to figure out how to have some independence at the same time. As a mom it’s nice to remember what kind of daydreams you had as a child. Imagining what the world might be like and that there is just so much to see and that everything in it is so beautiful.....Ahhhhh....This movie is for every dreamer out there!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1

This movie was amazing I saw it three times in five days, with my kids (6 and 3), with my husband and with my brother for his birthday. I thought that this movie stayed as close to the book as possible, which made it that much better. If for some reason you have not seen it go, go now. Even if you have not read the books, and for some reason have not seen the other movies, it is still a movie you can enjoy. The movie is funny and deep. I have yet to see it in Imax but when I can that is the next thing I am going to do. I love the magic in these movies not just the magic in the story line, but the magic of having three wonderful young actors engage you and share their emotions with you. All the actors in the movie are incredible, which makes this not only a movie for children, but for adults as well.
